why corn & soy free?
lower pufa content
When chickens eat more PUFAs, more PUFAs show up in the eggs on your plate, and eventually more PUFAs buildup inside of you.
Since soy, soybean oil, corn byproducts like distiller grains and corn oil are common high PUFA feed ingredients, conventional eggs can contain as much PUFA as a tablespoon of canola oil. So, removing them from feed will definitely help! Unfortunately, many “corn and soy-free” feeds simply swap in other high-PUFA ingredients, defeating the purpose. That's why we made our own!
Due to our truly low-PUFA, corn- and soy-free feed, our eggs contain 74% less linoleic acid (an Omega 6 PUFA) and 70% less total PUFA relative to Organic Vital Farms eggs.
When chickens eat better, you eat better, and your body feels the difference.
lower oxidation levels
PUFAs are chemically unstable due to their multiple double bonds. When exposed to heat, light, or oxygen (like during cooking), they oxidize and break down into harmful compounds like MDA and lipid peroxides, increasing inflammation, oxidative stress, and cellular damage. Eggs from hens fed flax and soy-rich diets show higher levels of pre-cooking lipid oxidation, meaning damage starts even before the egg hits your pan.
It doesn’t stop there. PUFA oxidation also triggers cholesterol oxidation in the yolk, producing harmful cholesterol oxidation products linked to metabolic and cardiovascular issues. One study (r) found that consuming high-PUFA eggs accelerated LDL cholesterol oxidation by 28%: a clear sign of increased oxidative stress. Eggs higher in PUFAs also spoil faster, taste worse, and lose nutrients more quickly.
Our solution: a custom, low-PUFA diet that protects your eggs from oxidation before, during, and after cooking.
easier to digest
What if your egg allergy isn’t from the egg… but from how the chicken is raised and what the chicken eats?
Many of our customers couldn’t tolerate other eggs (even pasture-raised) due to bloating, skin flare-ups, or digestive issues. That changed with Angel Acres eggs.
Why?
It’s all about the feed. Soy proteins and corn residues can pass into eggs, both common allergens. Plus, PUFAs and phytoestrogens can irritate the gut lining and disrupt hormones. Our feed eliminates these allergy triggers and potential gut disruptors completely.
The way eggs were meant to be: gentle on digestion and deeply nourishing.
better hormonal balance
Phytoestrogens are plant compounds that mimic estrogen in the body. They’re known endocrine disruptors linked to estrogen dominance, thyroid dysfunction, and hormonal imbalance.
The highest sources are soy and flax. When chickens eat soy or flax, these compounds accumulate in their eggs, and end up on your plate.
Soy is common in chicken feed, but here’s what most people don’t realize: even many “corn- and soy-free” feeds use flax as a substitute, which is still rich in phytoestrogens.
That’s one of the biggest reasons we decided to make our own feed.
While animals pass on smaller amounts than if you ate soy or flax directly, phytoestrogens are fat-soluble, meaning they build up in tissues over time. That’s the real danger: not a single exposure, but chronic, compounding exposure.
Every little bit of exogenous estrogen we can avoid matters. Because day after day, year after year, it adds up.
In a PUFA-rich, estrogenic world, it’s no surprise testosterone is plummeting and hormonal issues are everywhere.
Your internal environment is shaped by what you eat.
And what you eat, eats.
The good news?
Studies show that soy-free and flax-free diets produce eggs with no detectable phytoestrogens. That means we can drastically reduce exposure simply by changing what livestock are fed
Animal products don’t have to be a source of phytoestrogens, but due to modern feed, many are.
That’s why we custom formulate our animal feed to be not just corn- and soy-free, but also flax-free and free of other estrogenic ingredients, so the food on your plate supports your health, not works against it.
Our eggs are third-party lab-tested to have virtually no detectable phytoestrogen content.
Real food. Clean inputs. Hormone-safe by design. Just like what our ancestors had access to.
THEY WEREN'T ABLE TO EAT EGGS, UNTIL THEY TRIED OURS...
Contains 74% less omega 6 PUFA!
What we eat, eats matters, even for 'pasture-raised' eggs
Are you avoiding seed oils, but still eating eggs from chickens fed soy, corn byproducts, and other industrial fats?
Chickens can’t be 100% grass-fed. Even pasture-raised hens need supplemental feed. And the fats in eggs come from the fats in that feed. In other words: what’s in their feed becomes what’s in your eggs, including the same seed-oil fats you may be avoiding.
Thanks to our custom low-PUFA, corn- and soy-free feed, they contain 74% less linoleic acid (Omega-6 PUFA in seed oils) than the nation’s leading pasture-raised brand.
The result? Eggs with a healthier fatty acid profile that better support metabolism, hormones, and energy.

low pufa, healthy fats
PUFAs in = PUFAs out. So chickens eating soy, corn byproducts or other common high PUFA feed ingredients show up in the eggs.
Linoleic acid (LA), an omega-6 PUFA abundant in seed oils, is known to lower metabolic rate and negatively impact overall health. Thanks to our custom-made, low-PUFA, corn- and soy-free feed, our eggs are lab-tested to contain 74% less LA compared to other pasture-raised eggs. (Plus 20% more metabolism-supporting Stearic Acid, a stable saturated fat)
By keeping your LA intake at more biologically appropriate levels, our eggs support lower inflammation, less cellular damage, and better metabolic function.
hormonally balanced
Lab-tested to have virtually no detectable phytoestrogens - plant compounds that can mimic estrogen in the body. When chickens eat soy or flax, phytoestrogens build up in their eggs, ending up on your plate. Phytoestrogens are known endocrine disruptors linked to estrogen dominance, negatively affecting thyroid and hormone health. Our feed is low in phytoestrogens, producing hormonally balanced eggs.
We’re swimming in endocrine disruptors in the modern world. Your eggs shouldn’t add to the problem.
allergen friendly
We have many egg club members who are allergic to other eggs, but can eat our eggs with no problems! Food allergens are passed through to the egg so with our custom made feed free of corn and soy, our eggs are tolerated by many individuals! Many people don't have problems with eggs, but instead how modern eggs are produced and what chickens eat.
mobile pasture-raised
Our ladies are moved out on pasture using mobile coops so that they have access to fresh pasture, fresh bugs, and clean living conditions. This model of farming (mobile pasture-raised) spreads out animal impact and allows for the land to rest, improving soil health and regenerating landscapes, creating a healthier environment for us all!
Healthy food produced using regenerative and sustainable farming practices. Eggs you can feel good about feeding your family.
seed to fork
We don't just custom-make our own feed, we have row crop farm partners that produce our livestock feed ingredients using regenerative agriculture practices to help rebuild soil health. We know where our feed ingredients come from and who produces them, ensuring no toxic pesticides are used.
And as a result, our eggs are lab tested to be free of glyphosate!
drug free
Regular moves in mobile chicken coops provides healthy living conditions where the hens aren't exposed to their waste, plus access to fresh air, sunshine and clean air. When you work with Mother Nature, pharmaceuticals (which are common in chicken barns) are not needed. Our farmers do not use vaccines, antibiotics or hormones.
Drug-free farming, not PHARMing.
glyphosate free
Third-party testing from Safe Food Alliance confirms our eggs are glyphosate-free, reflecting our commitment to regenerative farming and toxin-free food.
We don’t just make our own custom feed , we know exactly who grows the ingredients and who produces the feed.
As a result, our chickens eat clean, species-appropriate healthy feed out on pasture so they can produce clean, nourishing eggs.
We were not happy with 'Business as usual'...
Modern eggs are very different from what they used to be... and we wanted to change that.
As first-generation female farmers, we came into farming with a human health first lens. Our mission was simple: produce the healthiest eggs possible.
But nothing on the market met our standards. Even feeds labeled “corn and soy free” were often packed with hidden high-PUFA ingredients like sunflower, safflower, canola, flax, or vegetable oils... exactly what we were trying to avoid.
So we did the only thing that made sense: we made our own feed. Years of research, testing, and refining went into creating a formula that truly improves the fatty acid profile of our eggs, for eggs that nourish, not just fill.
As a result, our eggs meet the LowPs™ Standard (low in PUFAs & phytoestrogens, and no pesticides) so that you don’t have to feed your family eggs that contain metabolism-disrupting compounds.
