Shipping Protection with SavedBy
We’ve been shipping nutrient-dense, farm-direct food for a few years now - and until now, we’ve absorbed the cost of lost, delayed, or spoiled packages ourselves. But as a small business, that’s not sustainable long-term. While FedEx is typically reliable, shipping perishables always carries some level of risk. And like farming, things don’t always go according to plan.
To keep prices fair for everyone and avoid inflating our product costs, we’ve partnered with SavedBy to offer optional shipping protection. This allows each Nourish Food Club or Angel Acres Egg Club member to decide for themselves whether they’d like extra peace of mind on their order. It's simple, cost-effective, and puts you in control. Note: all egg boxes are covered by Savedby on our backend. We still make the claim for you, so it’s no extra steps on your behalf!

Is this something new you're offering?
It is! Until now, we’ve handled any shipping issues, like delays or spoilage, entirely on our end. As our Food Club has grown, we’ve realized we need a more sustainable way to manage these rare but real risks. SavedBy gives you the option to protect your order, and we still make the claim for you - no extra work on your end!
What made you decide to add this now?
Shipping frozen, perishable food is a delicate dance. While our carriers do a great job most of the time, the reality is: things can go wrong. Delays, weather events, and misrouted boxes happen. Rather than raise product prices across the board to cover this risk for everyone, we’d rather give you the choice. SavedBy offers affordable, optional coverage at checkout so you’re protected when it counts.
Do I need to add SavedBy to my order?
Not unless you want to! Shipping protection is entirely optional. Some folks never have order or delivery issues and choose to skip it. Others live in harder-to-reach areas or just prefer the peace of mind - it’s totally up to you.
We cover the SavedBy fee on all egg boxes.
What if I don’t add SavedBy and something goes wrong with my order?
If your items in your box are damaged, your order is lost, delayed, or arrives compromised and SavedBy wasn’t added at checkout, we won’t be able to offer a refund, replacement, or store credit. We understand that’s disappointing, but this optional protection is the tool we’re offering to help cover that risk. If we made a packing or product error on our end (for example, the quality is off, an incorrect item is sent, or order is missing an item), though, that’s on us, and we’ll always make it right. How do I use SavedBy if something goes wrong?
You’ll get a confirmation email from SavedBy after placing your order. If there’s a shipping issue, just click the link in that email to file a quick claim. Can’t find the email? No problem - reach out to our team and we’ll help get it re-sent to you.
Who should consider adding shipping protection?
You know your delivery situation better than we do! SavedBy is a great option if:

Angel Acres Egg Box Coverage
Most of our customers receive their eggs in perfect condition! Occasionally, a few eggs may develop small cracks during shipping. If this happens, don’t worry, lightly micro-cracked eggs are still safe to eat and can be enjoyed as usual.
There is also a chance that eggs may arrive broken and unusable where the egg contents have leaked out of the shell since the inner membrane has been pierced open.
We understand this is a very disappointing experience, and it is far from the standard we strive to provide. Please accept our sincerest apologies.
Since shipping eggs is a high-risk endeavor — and something we’ve taken extra care to manage — every Angel Acres Egg Box order automatically includes full SavedBy shipping protection at no extra cost to you.
If your Angel Acres Egg Box arrives with damage or broken eggs, we’ll take care of the claims process for you — no need to contact SavedBy or file anything yourself.
Just send us:
– A brief description of what happened
– And a photo of the damage, if possible
(A photo isn’t required in all situations, but it’s incredibly helpful — both for filing the claim and improving our packaging.)
We’ll handle everything from there and make sure you're properly credited or refunded. Our goal is to make this process simple and stress-free for you.

- Angel Acres Egg Boxes include shipping protection automatically — no extra cost, and no action needed at checkout.
- Nourish Food Club orders still have optional shipping protection, which you can add during checkout if you'd like extra peace of mind.

We know policies can feel overwhelming, so here’s a quick guide to help you understand what to expect — and where to go — if something goes wrong.
Important Guidelines
- Claims must be filed within 7 days of receiving your delivery.
- Because we ship perishable items, please make sure someone is available to receive and properly store your package right away (in the fridge, freezer, or pantry as appropriate).
Our Return Policy
Perishable Items
Because we deal in real, perishable food, we’re unable to accept returns once a box has shipped. Cold-chain integrity is key, and once your order leaves our hands, we can’t guarantee how it was stored or handled on its journey to you.
Non-Perishable Items
We’re a small-scale farm operation, not a fulfillment center. If your order was packed accurately, we ask that you keep what you received. If we made an error, though, we’ll own it and make it right, every time.
What if the meat is tough or doesn’t taste right?
The animals we raise grow slowly, intentionally, and with care. That grass-fed steak or heritage chicken you’re cooking took years to produce, which means it calls for a bit of attention in the kitchen. If you’re ever unsure about a cut, don’t hesitate to reach out. But we’re not able to issue replacements or credits for meat that may have been mishandled or overcooked. We have a Recipes tab on our website and offer cooking tips for a reason - lean, nutrient-dense meat behaves differently than supermarket fare. Let us help you get it right so every bite is worth it!
