what's in this week's box?
Ships Week of June 22nd
Garlic scapes are the curly, flavorful shoots of the garlic plant.
An early summer favorite that’s milder than garlic cloves: chop them into eggs, pesto, stir-fries, or grill them whole.
Shipped Week of June 15th
how it works:
🌿 Nature Sets the Menu
Box contents naturally change week to week as we follow the natural seasonal rhythms Mother Nature, not factory production schedules.
🍅 Harvest Schedule
Produce is hand-harvested ripe on our small regenerative farms each Monday & Wednesday, then cooled overnight in a walk in fridge at our produce hub before shipping fresh the next day to your door.
📦 Shipping Days
Boxes ship separately from the rest of your order the day after harvest, every Tuesday & Thursday (ship date depends on your location). Tracking information will be emailed once your box ships.
🌱 Seasonal Variability
The image above is our projected harvest from the prior week’s field observations. Since we work with Mother Nature and harvest in rhythm with the season, contents may vary slightly based on weather and ripeness.
🌟 Subscriber Priority
Inventory is reserved first for Produce Box subscribers. Limited extra boxes may become available Friday evenings after subscriptions go through.

Each week, our farm partners hand-harvest fresh seasonal produce directly from their fields, which is then packed and shipped the after harvest for maximum freshness and flavor.
The box contents naturally change throughout the season as different crops thrive in different temperatures and weather conditions.
Each box is approximately Quarter Bushel size and generally works well for households of about 2–4 people, depending on how much produce your family enjoys eating and cooking with each week.
Produce boxes ship separately from the rest of your order every Tuesday and Thursday with insulated liners and ice packs for temperature control.
Unlike industrial grocery supply chains, our produce is:
• Organically grown and pesticide free
• Grown in real, nutrient-dense soil
• Harvested at peak ripeness
• Free from Apeel coatings and post-harvest chemical sprays to extend shelf-life
• Sourced from small regenerative farms, not industrial agriculture
Freshly harvested. Seasonal. Real, clean food grown in real soil with more nutrients. 🌱
Add color, flavor, and nutrients to a breakfast quiche, blend hearty vegetables into a comforting soup, or create a simple yet vibrant side dish to complement any meal. Whether you’re roasting, sautéing, pickling, or enjoying fresh salads, these ingredients inspire creativity in the kitchen. Look up fun seasonal recipes to match your box’s contents or preserve extra produce for later use.
Enjoy the satisfaction of cooking with nutrient-rich, chemical-free ingredients while reconnecting with the rhythms of nature’s harvest!

what is a seasonal produce box?
Our Seasonal Produce Boxes are a modern twist on the old-fashioned Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model, reconnecting families with truly seasonal food grown by small regenerative farms.
What makes this project so special is the partnership behind it: a few small regenerative farms working together to grow nutrient-dense produce, the old-fashioned way.
These aren’t industrial monocrop fields that rely on chemicals to battle nature... These are diverse, living farms that work with nature, who are harvesting, packing, and shipping fresh to your door all within 24 hours.

from farm to your door
DAY 1: Harvested Fresh
Our small regenerative farm partners harvest produce at peak ripeness, then bring it to our central produce hub where it’s carefully cooled shortly after harvest to preserve freshness and flavor.
DAY 2: Packed & Shipped
Produce boxes are assembled and packed with insulated liners and ice packs, then shipped directly to your door with minimal transit time.
DAY 3 or 4: Delivered to Your Home
Your produce arrives fresh, seasonal, and ready to enjoy, grown in real soil by small farms and harvested in rhythm with nature.
Most grocery produce spends 1–3 weeks in transit and storage before reaching shelves. Ours ships within 24 hours from harvest.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to subscribe?
No, one-time boxes may be purchased whenever extra harvest inventory is available.
However, subscriptions are the best way to secure your Produce Box throughout the season.
Because our farm partners are intentionally small regenerative farms, weekly harvest inventory is naturally limited. If available produce is fully reserved through subscriptions, there may not be additional one-time boxes available that week.
Do you use post harvest antimicrobial sprays, coatings, wax or APEEL?
Absolutely not!
Many people don’t realize that even grocery store organic produce can still undergo post-harvest treatments after harvest as it moves through large storage and distribution systems to extend shelf life.
For example, some retailers use antimicrobial misting spray systems like Produce Maxx with chlorine as an ingredient to help preserve freshness on store shelves. (That mist/spray isn’t always water…) Others use shelf-life extender coatings like Apeel/Organipeel, which are approved for use even on some organic produce.
Produce Maxx is an EPA-registered antimicrobial wash that contains hypochlorous acid, a chlorine-based compound.
Chlorine materials are explicitly allowed under the USDA organic regulations, as long as a water rinse is used. But the lines are blurry when it comes to produce sitting on the shelves at grocery stores, sprayed continuously while waiting to be put in a customer’s cart. The regulations focus on processing and packing facilities, not necessarily on ongoing retail misting once produce is already on display.
Our goal is different: freshly harvested produce, grown in real soil, shipped fresh, and handled as minimally as possible with NO post harvest chemical coatings.
And because this is real produce from small farms grown in real soil without any post harvest antimicrobial chemical spray treatments… it may not always look perfectly uniform or “picture perfect” like grocery store produce.
But honestly… that’s kind of the beauty of it. 🌱
Is the box shipped with temperature control?
Yes. After harvest, produce is cooled overnight in a walk-in fridge before being packed and shipped the following day.
Each box is packed with an insulated liner and ice packs to maintain freshness during transit.
Is there free shipping?
Yes, shipping is included in the price of the Produce Box.
Your purchase helps fairly compensate the farmers growing your food while also covering insulated packaging, ice packs, and direct-to-door delivery to keep your produce fresh during transit.
Because these boxes ship fresh from our central produce hub shortly after harvest, we prioritize fast transit times and temperature-controlled packaging to preserve freshness and quality from the field to your doorstep.
When does my box ship?
Produce Box subscriptions process on Fridays, and boxes are then harvested, packed, and shipped the following Tuesday and Thursday.
For one-time (non-subscription) orders, any order placed before Sunday at 12 PM ET will ship the following week on Tuesday or Thursday.
You’ll receive a tracking link via email as soon as your box ships.
Please note: If your order also includes items like meat, dairy, sourdough, or other Nourish products, your produce ships separately to preserve freshness and quality.
Because Produce Boxes ship directly from our central produce hub, they may also ship on a different day than the rest of your order in order to reduce unnecessary transit time and keep produce as fresh as possible.
How long does delivery take?
Produce Boxes arrive within 1–2 days after shipment. (unless there is a FedEx delay)
If your address falls outside our normal 2-day ground shipping window, we automatically upgrade your box to 2-Day Express shipping to help ensure produce arrives fresh and cool.
What to do if something arrives wilted?
Don’t worry, this can occasionally happen, especially with tender greens during warmer months.
Many leafy vegetables can easily be revived by trimming the ends slightly and soaking them in an ice water bath for 15–30 minutes.
Please remember: we do not use antimicrobial sprays, wax coatings, or post-harvest treatments commonly used in conventional grocery store supply chains.
This means the produce may not always look “picture perfect” like it does at stores, but it is still incredibly fresh, nutrient-dense, flavorful, and fully functional.
This is real produce:
- - Grown in healthy living soil
- - Pesticide-free
- - Free of antimicrobial sprays
- - Free of wax coatings
- - Free of APEEL coatings
If anything arrives beyond damaged beyond repair, please contact us at support@nourishfoodclub.com with your order number and photos of the produce, and we will make it right!
Can I skip a week if I'm out of town?
Absolutely. You can manage your subscription directly through your Nourish Food Club account and choose “Skip” anytime.
Because we pack and ship produce within a very short window after harvest each week, please make any changes to your subscription (such as skip or change addresses) before Sunday at 11:59 PM ET prior to the upcoming shipment week.
When does the season start and how long does it last?
Our Produce Box season follows the natural growing and harvest season as closely as possible.
The first harvest shipments begin at the end of May, with weekly produce shipments continuing through approximately the end of October.
As the growing season winds down, produce naturally transitions into more storage-friendly crops like:
- Winter squash
- Potatoes
- Root vegetables
The official Seasonal Produce Box subscription season runs from late May through late October during the peak growing season.
You may start, pause, skip, or cancel your subscription at any time.
What are the benefits of seasonal eating?
Eating produce in season means enjoying foods when they’re naturally ripe: often sweeter, more flavorful, and at their freshest.
Seasonal eating also naturally increases dietary variety throughout the year while reconnecting you with nature’s rhythms and the natural harvest cycle.
Rather than eating the same produce year-round from industrial supply chains, seasonal eating encourages diversity, creativity in the kitchen, and a closer connection to the farms and seasons producing your food.
Simple, traditional, and delicious.
Recipe ideas:
Rhubarb: (One of my favorite harvests of the year with a short growing season in early spring!) A tangy vegetable often used like a fruit in traditional desserts. Stew it down with honey or maple syrup, lemon, and a pinch of salt for a rhubarb compote to top yogurt or sourdough toast. Or try a classic rhubarb crisp with oats and butter, savory chutneys paired with meat, or a classic rhubarb and strawberry pie that your great great grandmother likely made!

Radishes: Crisp, peppery, and often underestimated. Radishes are rich in vitamin C and sulfur compounds that support detox pathways and digestion. While delicious raw in salads or sliced with butter and sea salt, they mellow beautifully when roasted or sautéed. For a more ancestral twist, try slow-roasting them in tallow or ghee until golden

Collard Greens: my favorite vegetable! And a surprisingly rich source of bioavailable calcium. For best digestion, collards should be cooked down well. Traditionally simmered in soups or stews with a ham hock or bones, this method breaks down tough fibers and enhances the flavor. I like to boil them for ~40 minutes, then reheat with tallow, ghee, or butter and salt at mealtime. You can also toss chopped collards into a soup, stew, or bone broth during the last 30–60 minutes of cooking.
> Traditional Collard Greens and Pork Shank
Zucchini: Mild, versatile, and abundant. A summer staple that’s easy to love: mild in flavor, rich in hydration, and packed with vitamin C, and potassium. It can be spiralized into noodles, shredded into fritters, sautéed with garlic and herbs, or baked into nourishing breads and muffins. Few veggies are as adaptable: zucchini bridges the gap between sweet and savory with ease.

Cabbage: A humble yet nutrient-dense vegetable with deep roots in ancestral cuisine. Traditionally used in dishes like sauerkraut, kimchi, and braised stews, cabbage supports gut health and digestion, especially when fermented or slow-cooked. Cabbage can be shredded into soups, roasted with tallow or ghee, or gently simmered with beef and onions for a rice bowl. I like to slice and sauté it low and slow in butter or ghee until tender and slightly sweet, then finish with sea salt and a dash of vinegar.
