Indulge in the rich, smoky flavor of our traditionally made Canadian Bacon, a timeless cured meat that’s lean, tender, and full of natural taste. Unlike standard bacon, which is made from the pork belly, our Canadian Bacon is sourced from the pork loin, making it a leaner option. It’s seasoned with care and slow-cured to perfection, offering a distinctive, savory bite.

Made from low-PUFA heritage Berkshire pork, our Canadian Bacon contains no artificial flavorings, preservatives, nitrates, or nitrites. It’s a cleaner, more natural alternative to mass-produced versions, delivering an authentic flavor that’s both healthier and more delicious. Crafted with the finest ingredients and time-honored techniques, our Canadian Bacon is the epitome of quality, offering a truly exceptional charcuterie experience.

Why is there sugar in the ingredients?

We understand all the confusing information out there in the nutrition space. But sugar is actually quite an "ancestral" food and has been used for thousands of years! Especially in traditional food preservation and meat curing.

Plus, such a small amount is used in these recipes, so each piece of meat still contains zero carbs. This reflects traditional, ancestral methods that prioritize flavor, safety, and quality: not sweetness.

In charcuterie, sugar plays a functional role: helping balance flavor, support the curing and fermentation process, and contribute to a stable, high-quality final product. Canadian bacon is very easy to cook! The most common method is a simple pan fry, where each slice is cooked about 1-2 min per side. Alternatively, simply placeo n a baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes at 375 deg F, flipping halfway through until warmed and slightly crisped.

Best Uses for Canadian Bacon:

- Breakfast Sandwich: Start your day off right by layering our Canadian Bacon on a sourdough English muffin, adding a fried egg, and a slice of cheese for a hearty, nutrient-packed breakfast sandwich.
- Salad Topper: Add a few slices to your favorite salad for a savory, protein-packed boost that pairs perfectly with fresh greens, tomatoes, and a light vinaigrette.
- Sandwiches & Wraps: Use our Canadian Bacon as a deliciously lean sandwich filling, combining with your choice of veggies, mustard, or avocado for a satisfying and healthy meal.
- Pizza Topping: Add slices to your homemade pizza for a smoky, savory touch that complements the cheese and other toppings perfectly.

Real Smoke, Real Flavor - No Junk

Forget the overly processed, chemical-laden deli meats lining grocery store shelves. Our wet-brined and smoked meats are crafted the old-fashioned way: using time-honored curing techniques, real hardwood smoke, and simple, high-quality ingredients. We never use artificial preservatives, nitrates, or PUFA-laden fillers, ensuring every bite is as clean as it is delicious.

Made in small batches, our meats are brined and slow-smoked to perfection, allowing the natural flavors to shine. Whether it’s our City Deli Ham, Canadian Bacon, or other smoked favorites, you’ll taste the difference in the rich, savory depth and tender texture. This is real, traditional craftsmanship: just pure, flavorful meat, the way it was meant to be.

Low in PUFAs, Custom-Feed

Most sliced deli meat these days is made using conventional livestock raised in Confinement Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs), containing higher levels of polyunsaturated fats (PUFAs).

Due to changes in modern feeding practices, conventional pork contains significantly higher levels of PUFAs than it did in the past, with conventional pork now containing the same amount of PUFAs as canola oil, definitely not ideal for strong metabolisms! This shift is largely driven by changes in the pig’s diet, specifically the mass production of corn, soy, distiller grains, and other PUFA-rich ingredients used in conventional feed. While pasture-raised pigs may have access to more natural grazing, they still require supplemental feed, which is often rich in PUFAs. As a result, even pasture-raised pork can still have elevated levels of omega-6 fatty acids, as the pigs’ diet directly influences the fat composition of their meat.

At Nourish, we’ve taken a different approach, producing a one of the kind charcuterie line you won't find elsewhere!

We’ve developed a custom-made low-PUFA, nutrient-dense corn- and soy-free feed for our pigs, ensuring their meat is rich in metabolism-supporting fats and lower in inflammatory PUFAs. Our focus on better feed practices leads to healthier pigs and better food for you, with lab testing to back it up.

Simply put, better food for our animals means better food for you!

Purebred Heritage Berkshire

The pork for our charcuterie line comes from purebred Berkshire hogs, one of the oldest and most celebrated heritage breeds, with a legacy spanning over 300 years. This Premium Berkshire pork is prized for its deep red color, exceptional marbling, premium taste, and naturally tender texture. Unlike commercial pork, which has been bred for rapid growth and leanness, Berkshire pork maintains its superior intramuscular fat, delivering unparalleled juiciness and depth of flavor.

Our Berkshires are pasture-raised, allowing them to get sunlight, forage, roam, and express their natural instincts: never confined to industrial confinement barns. Their slow, natural growth ensures the development of their signature taste and nutrition. By choosing Purebred Heritage Berkshire, you’re indulging in a time-honored delicacy while supporting ethical husbandry, and the preservation of an extraordinary breed.
