Turkey liver is one of the most nutrient-dense, bioavailable foods you can eat. Packed with vitamins A, B12, folate, iron, choline, and vitamin K2, it provides an array of health benefits, from supporting liver detoxification to enhancing brain function and promoting heart and bone health. Compared to beef liver, turkey liver has a creamier, milder taste and lacks the strong “iron-y” flavor, making it the best choice for crafting smooth, delectable liver pâtés and spreads.

The turkeys are raised in a mobile pasture system, where they roam freely and forage on diverse pastures and their coop for shelter is moved daily. These birds forage in fresh, healthy environments on pasture, where they thrive without the use of any chemicals, hormones, vaccines, or medications. Their diet is supplemented with our custom-made, chemical free, corn and soy-free, low PUFA feed—something rare in the turkey industry, as modern confinement barns use PUFA rich feed ingredients like corn and soy. While many “corn and soy-free” feeds often still contain high-PUFA ingredients, we take extra care to avoid these, ensuring our turkeys receive only the healthiest types of fats and are truly low PUFA.

The result? A superior-tasting turkey liver, free from allergens and toxins, that’s not only flavorful but also supports your health with clean, pure nourishment. Unlike industrial turkey liver, which can be laden with harmful PUFAs, our pasture-raised turkey livers are a wholesome, nutrient-packed option.

Turkey liver is incredibly versatile and can be enjoyed in a variety of dishes. Turkey liver pairs wonderfully with herbs like thyme, sage, rosemary, and garlic. It also complements a variety of acidic ingredients like vinegar or lemon juice, which can balance out its richness.

Whether you’re a seasoned organ meat lover or just starting to explore this nutrient-packed option, here are some great ways to prepare and enjoy it:

- Liver Pâté: Turkey liver is ideal for making smooth, creamy pâté or liver mousse. Sauté the liver with onions, garlic, and herbs, then blend with butter or cream for a velvety spread. Serve on crackers, toast, or as part of a charcuterie board.
- Pan-Seared: For a quick and easy option, sear turkey liver in a hot pan with butter or ghee. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Pair with sautéed vegetables or serve atop a salad for a hearty meal.
- Gravy or Sauce: Add turkey liver to your homemade gravies or sauces to enhance the richness and depth of flavor. Simply mince the liver and cook it along with your base, infusing the sauce with its nutrient-dense goodness.
- Liver Stir-Fry: Chop the turkey liver into small pieces and stir-fry with your favorite vegetables in some ghee, tallow or batter.

Custom-Feed: corn- & soy-free, low in PUFAs

Modern turkey contains significantly higher levels of polyunsaturated fats (PUFAs) than in the past, largely due to changes in feed (you are what you eat, eats). Conventional diets rely heavily on corn, soy, and other PUFA-rich ingredients, which directly influence the fatty acid composition of the meat. Even pasture-raised turkeys require supplemental feed, meaning they can still accumulate elevated levels of omega-6 fats depending on what they’re fed.

That’s why at Nourish, we’ve developed a custom corn- and soy-free nutrient-dense feed for our birds: carefully crafted to lower the PUFA content in our meat to better support your overall health and metabolism.

In addition to feed, processing methods matter. Many store-bought turkeys are injected with saline solutions, phosphates, and preservatives to enhance moisture and shelf life. These can include additives like sodium nitrites and sodium benzoate, further altering the quality of the final product.

By prioritizing both better feed and cleaner processing, we produce turkey that is truly nourishing, free from unnecessary additives and excess inflammatory PUFAs. When you choose Nourish turkey, you’re getting more than corn- and soy-free meat, you’re getting food raised with intention, integrity, and care.

Mobile Pasture-Raised for Optimal Nutrition

Turkeys raised on pasture have access to a more diverse, nutrient-rich diet, including supplemental feed, fresh grasses, plants, and insects. This variety enhances their nutrient intake, which is then reflected in the quality of the meat you consume. Pasture-raised animal products are often richer in fat-soluble vitamins. For example, vitamin D levels increase with sunlight exposure, as animals synthesize it in their skin and store it in their fat. Vitamin K2 levels are also influenced by diet, with grass-fed animals typically containing higher amounts of this essential nutrient. Truly pasture-raised animals may also contain higher levels of beneficial compounds like polyphenols, which support gut and overall health.

In contrast, animals raised in confinement are limited to a uniform feed source, resulting in a less diverse nutrient profile and a less nutrient-dense final product.

At Nourish, we take this a step further through mobile pasture-based practices. Our turkeys are moved daily to fresh pasture, ensuring continuous access to new grasses and insects while preventing overgrazing. Unlike the loosely defined “pasture-raised” label, this system protects soil health, preserves vegetation, and supports a more natural environment for the animals. The result is healthier turkeys, more sustainable land use, and ultimately, more nutrient-dense food for you.

Healthier Turkeys, Free of Pharmaceuticals

Healthy animals don’t need pharmaceutical crutches! Our turkeys are raised in optimal conditions: on mobile pasture with daily access to fresh grass, clean air, and the ability to express their natural instincts. Unlike confined birds raised in crowded barns, our turkeys are not exposed to excessive waste buildup or poor air quality. Instead, they forage freely and benefit from nutrient-rich pasture that supports gut and immune health. While turkeys cannot survive on grass alone, regular access to fresh pasture provides valuable nutrients and fiber that contribute to overall well-being.

This environment greatly reduces the need for routine pharmaceutical interventions. So we do not use vaccines, antibiotics, hormones or other drugs.

Conventional turkeys, often raised in confinement and bred for rapid growth, rely heavily on antibiotics and aggressive vaccination schedules to maintain health under stressful conditions. In contrast, our pasture-raised turkeys move more, experience less stress, and develop stronger immune systems. The result is healthier animals and more nutrient-dense meat: raised without unnecessary inputs and in alignment with regenerative farming principles.
