Lamb shanks are one of the most prized cuts for those who appreciate deep, rich flavor and melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. Sourced from the lower legs, these hardworking muscles are packed with collagen-rich tendons, ligaments, and fascia—giving shanks one of the highest gelatin-to-muscle meat ratios of any cut. When slow-cooked, this collagen breaks down into nourishing gelatin, creating an ultra-satisfying, health-boosting meal.

Loaded with the same amino acids found in bone broth, lamb shanks support gut health, metabolism, and vibrant skin, hair, and joint function. Plus, they’re an excellent source of high-quality protein, B vitamins, iron, zinc, and selenium—essential nutrients for energy, immune function, and overall well-being.

It’s no surprise that lamb shanks have been a staple in traditional cuisines worldwide, cherished for their ability to transform into rich, velvety stews and braises. Whether slow-roasted with garlic and rosemary, braised in a red wine reduction, or simmered in a fragrant Moroccan tagine, shanks deliver an unparalleled depth of flavor.

Once you experience their luxurious texture and robust taste, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without them. You can shank me later for introducing you to this game-changing cut!
  • LowPs™ 100% Grass-Fed Lamb
Lamb shanks shine in slow-cooked dishes, where time and gentle heat work their magic to break down the rich collagen. Whether braised, stewed, or roasted, these shanks deliver fall-apart tenderness and deep, satisfying flavor.
- Classic Braised Lamb Shanks: Slowly simmered in water, broth, red wine, or tomatoes with garlic, onions, and fresh herbs like rosemary and thyme for 2-3 hours. The result? A rich, velvety sauce and fork-tender meat.
- Slow Cooker or Instant Pot: Let the shanks cook low and slow for 6 hours in a medley of aromatics and broth for an effortless, nourishing meal.
- Moroccan-Style Tagine: Infused with warming spices like cinnamon, cumin, and ginger, braised with dried fruit and root vegetables for a sweet-savory depth.
- Greek-Style Lamb Shanks: Slow-roasted with lemon, oregano, and olive oil, served with roasted potatoes or creamy tzatziki.
- Lamb Shank Stew : A nutrient-packed comfort dish where shanks simmer with carrots, celery, and potatoes for a hearty, bone-warming meal.
- Osso Buco-Style Shanks: An Italian-inspired preparation with white wine, garlic, and gremolata for a bright, citrusy finish.

Pro Tip: For the best texture and flavor, always sear your lamb shanks first before braising. This locks in the juices and adds a delicious caramelized crust that enhances the depth of your dish. Cook low and slow for at least 2.5 to 3 hours for best results.

Lamb Shanks Reviews

Delicious taste

Today I tried thte primal lamb blend and wow It's sooo delicious and lean. I didn't really feel any fat. I love it because some lamb I bought from different farmers was too fat and I could feel it. Just a perfect balance.

Wow

The lamb arrived!! And I cooked up the primal blend real quick. OMG my first thought was this tastes like the lamb in Mongolia. I went with a group and we stayed with a family on their farm in yurts and they cooked fresh lamb for us. This reminds me I should look up some Mongolian recipes for coking. Anyway. It was amazing. It didn't taste like the typical primal blend that often tastes bitter and gamey!

100% Grass-Fed

Our lamb graze freely on nutrient-rich pastures, eating the diet nature intended, which supports their metabolic health and aligns with their natural physiology. In contrast, grain-fed lamb are confined to feedlots with limited movement, rapidly fattened on high-energy grain diets that produce excessively fatty meat, far removed from the cuts of meat historically consumed from wild ruminants.

Research shows that grain-fed livestock develop elevated glucose metabolites, triglycerides, and oxidative stress markers, while pasture-finished animals maintain superior metabolic function. 100% grass-fed practices support healthier animals, and that quality is reflected in the meat you eat.

By choosing our 100% grass-fed lamb, you’re enjoying a cleaner, more nutrient-dense product that mirrors the meat our ancestors thrived on, free from the endocrine-disrupting pesticides and phytoestrogens often found in conventional grain-fed lamb.

Regeneratively Raised

Not all grass-fed lamb is the same, how it’s raised matters. There’s a meaningful difference between animals grazing continuously on a single pasture and those raised using rotational grazing. Rotational grazing involves moving lamb daily (1-3 times) across fresh pasture, mimicking the natural movement of wild herbivores. This allows the land to recover, improves soil health, increases biodiversity, and ultimately enhances the quality of the meat.

Rotationally grazed lamb that are moved to fresh pasture daily consume a wider variety of nutrient-rich grasses, which can lead to higher levels of vitamins, minerals, and beneficial phytochemicals. These bioactive compounds are associated with anti-inflammatory and overall health-supporting properties, and their presence is directly influenced by the diversity of the animal’s diet. (Research shows none are detected in grain-fed feedlot meat).

This highlights an important point: it’s not just about grass-feeding, but how the animals are managed. While rotational grazing requires more effort, it produces healthier animals, more nutrient-dense meat, and supports a more resilient, regenerative ecosystem.

Free of Pharmaceuticals and Toxic Agrochemicals

Healthy animals don’t need pharmaceutical interventions like vaccines, antibiotics and hormones.

Our lamb are raised in optimal conditions: grazing on fresh pasture, breathing clean air, and regularly moved to new grass, ensuring they aren’t living in their own waste or exposed to toxins. This natural lifestyle eliminates the need for routine antibiotics, vaccines (including mRNA vaccines), hormones, and dewormers. In contrast, conventional feedlot lamb are confined to crowded, unsanitary conditions, requiring constant pharmaceutical support to stay healthy.

By prioritizing regenerative farming practices and animal management, our farmers raise resilient cattle that rarely get sick. Our animals experience minimal parasite exposure, no stress from confinement, and receive optimal nutrition from diverse pastures that supports their immune function and metabolic health. Our needle-free lamb offers pure, wholesome meat (just as nature intended) without the pharmaceutical crutches required by industrial agriculture.
